Among the exceptional brands offered by Luxury Bed, there is one that can claim to have the
Oeko-Tex® label: the American brand
Pure Talalay Bliss.
But what exactly is this label that we are hearing more and more about?
Oeko-Tex® is an association of 18 independent research institutes in Europe and Japan which work together for
more quality and responsibility in the textile and leather industry. More specifically, Oeko-Tex® makes a significant contribution to
innovation in the textile industry and the production of high-quality products by means of ever more advanced and sophisticated test methods.
The Oeko-Tex® label, or rather the Oeko-Tex® labels, was born out of this colossal amount of research work carried out on a continuous international basis, as the prestigious association offers a whole range of labels and certifications. Oeko-Tex® has the mission
creating confidence in textile and leather products and their production methods.
What does Oeko-Tex® actually mean?
A product with the Oeko-Tex® label is a product which is
not harmful to your health or skin. It is certified free of all chemical substances. The label therefore certifies the non-toxicity of textiles. Each element of the product submitted for certification is analysed by 18 research institutes in Europe and Japan. The tests are then carried out on the site of the company submitting the product, in a systematic or random way. More than 300 substances are analysed in this way.
Oeko-Tex® has developed
various types of label: Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex® for the non-harmfulness of textiles, Step by Oeko-Tex® for environmentally and people-friendly players, Made in Green by Oeko-Tex® which combines Standard 100 and STeP, Leather Standard by Oeko-Tex® for the non-harmfulness of leather, Eco passport by Oeko-Tex® for the certification of products involved in the processing of textiles and Detox to Zero by Oeko-Tex® for the assessment of chemical management systems.
